A Calm Guide Through a Complex Process
Medical leave is rarely something people prepare for.
Most employees don’t think about Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Short-Term Disability, or Long-Term Disability until they are suddenly in the middle of it — often while managing illness, recovery, or caring for someone they love.
In that moment, what they want most is simple: To understand what is happening.
To know what matters.
To feel heard.
To make informed decisions.
That is where my work begins.
My Professional Background
I am a Registered Nurse (RN) and Certified Case Manager (CCM) with more than four decades of experience including clinical practice, case management, leadership, and operations.
Over the course of 25 years, I held progressive clinical and claims leadership roles within two national disability insurance carriers. During that time, I reviewed medical documentation, evaluated complex Short-Term and Long-Term Disability claims, and supported teams responsible for benefit determinations.
I understand how benefit decisions are made — how policy provisions and relevant documentation are reviewed, evaluated, and ultimately determined — because I worked within the processes and teams responsible for making those decisions.
That perspective allows me to help clients understand not just what is happening, but why.

Why This Work Matters To Me
Over the years, I repeatedly encountered capable, proactive employees who felt confused and overwhelmed by the leave process.
Policies were written in language that was difficult to understand.
Letters were unclear.
Medical updates were delayed.
Decisions felt unexpected or unexplained.
Many employees wanted to participate actively in their leave — yet they did not have structured guidance to do so.
I knew there had to be a better way to help people understand what was happening and what they could do next.
That is why I developed The Medical Leave Clarity™ Method.

My Approach
My work is educational and advisory in nature.
I help employees understand:
• The type of leave they are on
• How benefit decisions are made
• What documentation carries weight
• Key timelines and decision points
• Questions to ask their healthcare providers
Medical advice, legal representation, and guaranteed outcomes are not provided.
Instead, I provide structured insight so clients can move forward informed, prepared, and confident in their participation.
When the process is clear, decisions feel less overwhelming.

Personal Perspective
In addition to my professional background, I have personally navigated both Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Short-Term Disability.
I understand what it feels like to wait for a decision, to read policy language carefully, and to hope everything required has been submitted.
That experience deepened what I already learned professionally — even capable, proactive individuals can feel uncertain when processes are not clearly explained.
It strengthened my commitment to making clarity accessible.
A Final Note
I believe education empowers people.
When you understand your benefits, your responsibilities, and the process ahead of you, you are no longer navigating in the dark.
You are participating — thoughtfully and intentionally — in decisions that affect your health, career, and financial stability.
If you are looking for structured, ethical, and experienced guidance through a complex leave of absence, I would be honored to support you.
The first step is a complimentary 30- minute Clarity Call.
There is no obligation.
Just a thoughtful place to begin.
